Austrian songwriter and folk artist Joseph Charles Phaze is extraordinarily passionate about the cultural history of music and the evolution of musical writing. Having studied and analyzed different composers and styles of scoring, he started aiming at growing his own projects.

Phaze’s debut single The Mountain Temple is a soundtrack-like orchestral piece with eastern Asian instruments and scoring. In March 2020, he joined a new internet trend covering modern pop songs “medieval style”. "Bardcore" being the name of this hype is also the title of his album series. In Summer 2020 his first edition of the Bardcore Manuscripts went online, continuing with the second Album in November. After publishing the Third Manuscript in 2021 he focused on completely self composed renaissance Instrumental music, featured in the two Albums "From Medieval Chronicles", Part I and II. In 2023 he continued his Bardcore Manuscripts with the fourth edition. 

 

His medieval cover songs are listed in all relevant Bardcore playlists on Spotify as well as Boardgame and D&D Music selections all over the online msuic plattforms.
